INTERSTATE BATTERIES
For the first time in their 70+ year history, Interstate Batteries introduced an official brand mascot – Mr. Dependable. Leading our creative team and collaborating with strategy, I helped our team develop the character of the mascot, weave him into scripts and turn them into a pair of commercial spots for the new campaign.
With their rich history and commitment to quality, Interstate Batteries sought to bring its “Outrageously Dependable” promise to life through a bold new mascot. Mr. Dependable acts as a living embodiment of that brand promise and is a character blending outrageous humor, eye-catching visuals, and the unwavering reliability consumers trust. The campaign features two flagship spots, dynamic content for paid and organic social, and a cameo appearance by NASCAR driver Christopher Bell.
With the launch of this new character, it was important to our team to make sure that Mr. Dependable gained the most attention in the eyes of consumers, and the best way to do that was to make sure he shows up in as many places, in as many different formats and on as many different platforms as possible.
Custom content was produced, captured and delivered in a variety of paid social and YouTube bumper ads, in addition to the main two spots running on CTV/OTT, as well as assets for organic social, and even postable, textable GIFs on Giphy and Tenor. Our work was also
